You can learn about all of these features in our marketing copy, so I won’t go too deep. But if you’re new to what WPX hosting has to offer, this should be a good starting point before you get into the good stuff.

However, server-level hosting with a reverse proxy like Nginx or Varnish is usually better because it doesn’t run the entire WordPress application.
And for ultimate security peace of mind, WPX Hosting offers unlimited free malware removal if malware finds its way through the WAF. Basically, if your site is infected, WPX Hosting will clean it at no cost to you.
In addition to some convenient features from the previous section, such as malware removal, WPX hosting has built in some other tools/features to easily manage your WordPress site.
First, you get automatic daily backups with 28 days of storage, which is more than any WordPress host. Many managed WordPress hosts only keep backups for 14 days. You can also run a manual backup if needed.

Personally, I prefer to use a dedicated email hosting service, but I know many people who like to get their web hosting and email hosting from one place.
Overall, this is a pretty solid list of features – I’ll show you some of them in more detail later, but let’s start with some performance tests.
How Can I Set Up My New Wpx Hosting Account?
I’ll start the hands-on part of our WPX hosting review by looking at performance. Because, after all, if WPX hosting can’t load your site fast, nothing matters.
To set up a realistic test environment, I created a real website using the lightweight Airi theme and one of the Elementor demo sites (here’s the exact demo site I tested). Elementor is the most popular WordPress page builder plugin, so this test environment should be accurate to what real users can create.
In many hosting reviews, you’ll see people trying performance tests using unrealistically lightweight test sites – which I haven’t done. This may give the impression of a slightly slower page load speed, but it should be more accurate to the type of speeds you will experience if you host your website on WPX hosting.
I made no performance changes to the demo site beyond making WPX Hosting default to installing and configuring the W3 Total Cache plugin. I did not change a single setting in W3 Aggregate – I left it as already installed, which says WPX hosting configuration at least.

In this first test, I used WebPageTest to run nine separate one-off tests. Then, I took the average value from nine separate tests to eliminate single-test variation.
WebPageTest offers a lot of data here, but the most important is the average page load time of about 1.5 seconds (1.463 seconds).
For a complete website, this is the best time to give your visitors a great user experience. So, for this first test, WPX Hosting definitely scores well.
As I mentioned above, BlazeMeter works differently than WebPageTest. Instead of a single test of all website load times, BlazeMeter sends several visitors at once to see how quickly the server responds when the number of visitors increases.

In a perfect scenario, you want to see your server response time stay flat even as the number of visitors increases. In human-friendly terms, that means your site loads 50% faster
In the first test, you can see an increase in response time for the third stage (all 20 visitors). Response time (orange line) is roughly flat at ~415 ms, increasing to ~590 ms around 20 visitors.
In human-friendly terms, this first test shows that your site has 20 people browsing at the same time, 20.
Visitors may have a slightly slower browsing experience. However, the difference is only 0.17 seconds, so it doesn’t matter:

The second test was more difficult, so I expected it to make a difference. However, WPX Hosting actually performed better in the second test, which is great.
Here, the server response time stabilizes at around ~400 ms, marking 40 active visitors jumps to around ~500 ms:
Overall, I’d say the performance of WPX Hosting loaded is good, but not the best I’ve seen. Hosts like Kinsta and WP Engine performed better when I ran this test. However, for the price, I still give WPX good hosting because other hosts are also more expensive.
It’s not as cheap as shared hosting, but it doesn’t compete with shared hosting but with other managed WordPress hosts like Kinsta, WP Engine, Flywheel, and more.

Personally, I think limiting bandwidth is a better approach than arbitrary limits, so I think this is a big advantage of WPX hosting over other managed WordPress hosts. One “lack” is that it is a bit difficult to know the number of visitors that the plan supports.

As you can see, WPX hosting is cheaper in general, but offers more resources. The exception is Flywheel’s entry-level plan, but it only works for low-traffic sites.
As I mentioned before, WPX Hosting includes the platform in all plans. However, when you create a staging site, it counts against your total website limit. This is different from how other managed WordPress hosts work, where your staging site does not count towards your total site limit.
For example, if you are on the entry level plan, you can create five websites. Let’s say you already have four websites live. If you create a staging site for one of the sites, it will take up the last slot so that you now have five websites displayed.

Basically, if you want to use a staging site, pay attention to this difference when you choose a plan because it can affect your decision. However, even with this trick, you are still ahead against other managed WordPress hosts.
