Best Web Hosting Sites 2016

Best Web Hosting Sites 2016 – We conducted a survey using our church’s WordPress theme asking our customers to rate and provide feedback on various aspects of the web hosting company they use. 200 churches responded, giving us a wealth of data to help us rank web hosting providers. This list of hosting companies will help your church make the best choice and avoid getting stuck with a bad host.

We included web hosts that received at least three responses to our survey. Most churches are exclusively using non-church web hosting providers. By that, I mean they are dealing with sellers in general. There are many opinions

Web host. What the church needs is good hospitality, so let’s see who does and who doesn’t.

The Best Web Hosting Control Panels

Looking for a new church website? This article covers web hosting but not your actual church website. We focus on simple church websites built with WordPress that you can use on the web host of your choice.

Before you dig in, let me tell you one reason we did this survey Maybe you searched for “best web hosting” or “web host reviews”. This is a good thing, most of what you read is used. Hosts usually pay affiliate marketers $50 – $200 per referral to lure people into doing crazy things like creating fake ratings, writing fake reviews, etc. To me (generally speaking) I think web hosts are turning a blind eye to this for their own benefit. .

If you thought used car salesmen were bad, try web hosting marketers. I am speaking in general. There are some good people in this industry. Just be careful.

We have a lot of information to share, but let’s not beat around the bush. Here are the best church web hosting providers based on the churches we surveyed. One of the questions we asked was, “Overall, how satisfied are you with your church’s web hosting provider?” It was.

All four of these hosts make it to the top half. We recommend WordPress themes to our church users, so I’m glad to see SiteGround is better than average. I have personally used SiteGround and they are a good choice with very fast support response time (usually just a few minutes).

Churches rated SiteGround Hosting an average of 9.6 While InMotion Hosting leads in most categories, SiteGround has a big advantage in the WordPress support department. Since the churches we surveyed use WordPress, it’s clear that they appreciate support for WordPress issues, something that most hosts don’t offer unless they’re an expensive “managed” WordPress host like WP Engine ($35/month). SiteGround starts at just $9.95 per month (regular price).

I have asked for help from their tech support staff 5 or 6 times and they are always polite and efficient. Most of the time, the issue was resolved during a web chat with them. I chose because it was recommended and I am completely satisfied with the service quality and cost.

WordPress Reviews (2022’s Best Hosts, Themes, & Plugins)

I had no problems, they worked to solve any problem. I found them especially useful when I was just getting started with WordPress.

If we weren’t surveying churches using WordPress, InMotion Hosting might get a better overall rating than SiteGround. InMotion Hosting dominated in all categories except for help with WordPress issues (in which it scored an average of just 7.9). They scored a 9.8 average for overall support and SiteGround beat all other hosts with speed, uptime, features, ease of use and price. We are surprised.

They are always high, they have not undergone any evolution. They communicate well for maintenance outages and security concerns. WordPress is pre-installed and easy to use. Email is secure and easy to use.

Our web hosting service is highly reliable. In the last 5-6 years, we have experienced only once when a hacker got into the server and uploaded a page to our website. Access is our web host, not our fault. It was fixed in very short order.

Best Free Web Hosting Sites (2022)

Namechip has done surprisingly well. I’d say it’s surprising because they’re better known for domain name registration than web hosting. We use them to manage our own domains so shouldn’t appreciate them being superior to web hosting. Church rates them above average in 5 out of 7 categories. While their weakest performance category is clock (last place, although the 8.0 isn’t terrible), their strongest point is speed.

We’ve recommended DreamHost in the past, not only because we think they’re number one, but also because they offer free hosting that’s great for non-profits and churches on a budget. That being said, they should be considered on an average host and paid basis (which we recommend if possible, so your church has some “skin in the game”).

You can’t beat the unlimited storage and bandwidth on offer. WordPress can be slow due to the shared hosting model.

Note which churches score below average in the bottom half of this list. All four hosts are owned by GoDaddy or EIG. While some say GoDaddy is slowly moving in the right direction, these are not reputable companies. EIG has over 50 web hosting brands so check that list and avoid them. I personally think GoDaddy and Media Temple are poor (Media Temple was better before being bought by GoDaddy).

Linode Web Hosting Review 2023: A Respectable 4/5

Bluehost is probably the most popular shared hosting provider. They are an EIG brand and a recommended host, something that has caused some controversy. I doubt many churches sign up because recommends them. Not that everyone has a problem with them, but there are other hosts that get more love from their customers so it’s not a worthy recommendation in my opinion (the other three recommended hosts are better).

Dashboards can be complicated for non-techies. I’m not much, but when I need it, it takes a while to find what I need.

I like the access to change, the ease of use of the host’s user interface, and the cost-effectiveness and variety of hosting plans. The bigger it is, the worse the support will be relative to the skills of the key support technicians. Also, support response time will be reduced. (ie long wait)

Our hosting offers low cost and value for dollar. We have very little technical knowledge, but we can get by.

What Is Web Hosting?

GoDaddy isn’t the worst, but they are below average. I had a good experience with them many years ago but then had a problem. The straw that broke the camel’s back was their crafty marketing. I understand it, it’s cleared. We’ve seen many problems with churches using GoDaddy hosting, especially themes related to outdated software.

Our web host is nothing fancy – it keeps our website running. One such thing annoys me though – they come up with new services or offers for new customers but don’t seem to throw a bone to the already loyal and loyal ones.

Our church decided to use GoDaddy before I came on board. Although I would have chosen a different web host because of GoDaddy’s slightly negative reputation, the service was satisfactory enough that it wasn’t worth switching to another web host…

Best Web Hosting Sites 2016

HostGator is a very popular web host that was bought by EIG in 2012. I have been told before that they are very good hosts. Unfortunately, they are not providing the best web hosting for churches. When I run, I see them in the bottom 20% of web hosts. Your church is probably better off staying away from this host.

Top 10 WordPress Hosting Providers Compared [infographic]

Pro: Relatively cheap for unlimited bandwidth and storage. Con: Once a month our page goes down for a few minutes

Overall I like Hostgator, but I’m really tired of the cPanel ads and clutter. Support is hit or miss, you can get good technology or not so good.

Media Temple started in the late 1990s and had a reputation until recent years. The change may be related to their acquisition by Godadi in 2013. Churches is the most expensive web hosting starting at $20 per month. Our company decided not to host with Media Temple several years ago because their service was offensive.

I love the support they provide and the ease of use of their WordPress hosting. It has nothing to do with the church and the load is not good at all.

Web Hosting Comparison: Top Web Hosting Companies 2016

Their help files for WordPress related issues are very technical and require someone to understand how to code.

In addition to asking churches how they rated their web hosting overall, we also asked how they rated their web hosting in various categories such as support, speed, value, and more. Here’s how hosts stack up in each category.

Isn’t it surprising that the support rating and the overall rating are the same? That’s probably not the case
